Sarajo Frieden has a fun whimsical illustration style that lends itself well to pattern incorporation and creation. All of her work is excellent, but while flipping through her site, her pattern design and hand drawn type were what stopped me in my tracks. You may not have realized it, but you’ve probably seen her work before. Some of her clients include Old Navy, Scholastic and Nickelodeon. Based out of L.A. she draws inspiration from decorative folk art, Persian miniatures, Shaker trance drawings, Japanese ukiyo-e, and her Hungarian aunt’s embroidery. Click here to view her site.
