Some of you may have seen the pictures on facebook already. One of the reasons I haven’t posted in awhile is that for the last two and half weeks I’ve been working on a kitchen island for our kitchen. Because our kitchen is a little on the small side and we still wanted to get a dishwasher we figured we can hide it inside the island. We bought a small 18″ dishwasher and I built the island around it. The best part of building your own is you can make it look how you want it. The island is made from birch with two sides of it painted white. Similar to the table that I made. We’ll be redoing our countertops soon so the wood top will be replaced with whatever counters we go with.
