A few things about Jean Espezial: One: they’ve got a great looking new site (well, new to me, I haven’t checked in a while…but I think it’s actually legitimately new). The gallery is especially (or is it espezially…) cool, with some great filter-driven animated effects. Two: the new site has a bio section, which nicely explains that Jean Espezial is, in fact, a collective. You see, all along I’ve been under the impression that Jean Espezial was simply one prolific person, and I suppose it’s a bit a relief that it takes 7 people to produce so much great work. And this brings me to Three: there’s a ton of great stuff in the gallery. I’ve posted a few selections above, but take a little time and pick through everything.

We’ve been working a lot on this new desktop wallpaper illustration and planned to have it finished by today, but alas, it’s not quite there yet. Who new building an entire city would take so long? In the mean time we still have some great wallpaper tiles in our gallery.

Yeah, yeah, so they’re kinda derivative of our other most recent pattern, but these vines merited a pattern of their own, and so we have it. Go to our gallery to download the zipped folder containing the three patterns shown narrowly above as well as three versions in miniature—truly a bargain at the low low price of…nothing! Man, it’s like we’re giving these things away…
